Our next Restorative Arts Workshop is Aug. 12-15, 2010
We all approach Restorative Art from our own unique perspective. We base that perspective on what has worked for us in the past and what we've learned along the way. This workshop is an opportunity to openly share information and ideas so we can all learn something new. If you have any gaps in your restorative art knowledge, this is a great opportunity to fill those gaps in. At
Preproom Place we take a simple approach to restorative art, we believe in learning by doing.

We are offering to embalming professionals a 4-day workshop specializing in hands-on facial restoration. This is a valuable opportunity to polish your skills as a restorative artist and learn techniques for everything from simple swelling reduction to more complex bone reconstructs. Our Hands-On Structural Restorative Art Workshop is limited to 12 total participants and the student to cadaver ratio is 1:1. Each student will work on his/her own case. Some of the topics covered include: Tissue Reduction, Building Structural Foundation for Any Trauma, Working With Wax, Wax Alternatives, Mandible Repair, Crushed Eye Socket and Extreme Cranial Repair.
In this workshop you will receive 10 hours of lecture and 22 hours of hands-on participation. There is no pre-embalming for this lab, you will do your own embalming the first day of lab. This course was designed for embalmers, students and apprentices. Please see the workshop brochure link on the bottom of the page for more details.
This course has been approved by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (
APFSP) for 32 hours of instruction. You will need to check with your state licensing agency to see if they accept CEU's issued from the Academy. We are listed as provider #1073.
